Lazing around our campsite in Western Australia it feels time to update our blog to let you lucky readers know what we have been up to.
Malaysia feels so long ago now but we will try to update with everywhere we went.
Having fallen in love with the cooler weather in the Genting Highlands we decided to move on to The Cameron Highlands. A major tea plantation and also walking and leisure destination. We had to brave the stupidly scary skyway cable car to get back down from Genting but it didn't feel as bad to be going down. It was then a bus ride back into KL to find a bus to take us to Cameron Highlands.
Of course we chose the cheapest bus we could find and in turn got the slowest and most uncomfortable bus. After 5 hours sat in a sweat box we got to Cameron Highlands. We had pre booked accommodation so arrived at David's Lodge. It was a damp, dirty and uncomfortable place but as we had already paid for two nights decided to stick it out. We eventually moved to another place which wasn't quite as bad.
The Cameron Highlands was good and as we were feeling so lazy and quite sick of busses, ferries and trains stayed here for just over a week. The cool temperature, creams scones and tea were very nice.
As we had just about got to the end of our tether with travelling in countries where it is slow and hard work we decided to spend our last week in Malaysia back in KL. The idea being to pay a bit more and relax by the pool. Well we got there and the pool was closed for renovation. Typical. We decided to stay anyway and had a great week looking around again and making use of the great air conditioned cinemas where it was only ₤2 to see a film. I think this means if anyone wants us to have a video night when we get back we will have seen them all, some good, some bad and some just plain ugly. It was good to rest up and renew are enthusiasm for this travelling game.
