After a lazy morning we caught the bus down to Bondi Beach, which is a compulsive trip for us Brits. People had told us it wasn’t a good beach but we quite liked it. Don’t think there were many Aussies down there. We had a sit on the beach and watched the surfers for a while. Then we wandered around the shops, including another Ripcurl shop (Ripcurl make a very nice white T-shirt that has the place name of where it is on sale written on it - Andy had bought a “New Zealand” one and very much wanted the “Bondi Beach” one to add to his collection but not enough luggage space...). We caught the bus back into the city centre and got off near China Town. We had a very nice Chinese meal then we walked back through the very pleasant Darling Harbour then back to the hotel via a rather elongated route as there was a big hill between us and where we wanted to get to... We were within 2 minutes of the hotel when the heavens opened and torrential rain hit the city; we hope some of the water made it to the right places as Australia desperately needs rain!
