The second day in Agnes waters/1770 I got to sleep in and had a nice lazy breakfast.
Then I went and registered for a tour called scooterroo which I had heard about the previous night.
Scooteroo is a tour around the two towns on motorcycles not the kind where you get driven around but where you are given a motorcycle that you ride yourself.
The scooters are made to look like Harley Davidsons and when 30 backpackers turned up we were told that by the end of the 3 hour tour we would look like one big biker gang.
To start with they gave us fake tatoos with skulls and cross bones on them that we applied to our necks and arms and then we were given helmets and leather jackets with flames and biker designs on them.
Then we got to choose our cycles that looked like serious biker gang bikers with flames and flags painted on them.
And then we were off 30 something bikes roaring out of the yard at 20 Kph.
Ok that sounds slow, that's because it is slow! Hey I was scared though as I had never driven a bike before, ( if you don't count the time I flipped my brother Tims bike 29 seconds after I got on it)
Anyway after the first 15 mins of getting used to the bike I took the speed up a little to 30Kph and started to feel comfortable and took in the beautiful sceanary of Agnes waters.
After awhile we went faster still and I was up to 50Kph and while scary at first was quite exilerating when I got used to it. Now I think I understand what my Dad and Brother like about motorcycles.
I can't wait till Tim gets a new bike and I get to take it for a spin ! (when I told my brother this he laughed and said there was "No Chance!".
Soon all 30 of us were quite confident and as one group we went down the main street in our leathers on our loud bikes beeping our horns, I even managed a one arm wave at a group of young kids watching the spectacular.
Then we were off to the lookout at 1770 Which had a magnificent view and then down into 1770 itself where we parked the bikes and were given patato wedges and sour cream and chilli sauce with a drink and sat by the water and watched the sun set over both land and water.
I took some great photos and then back on the bikers (it was dark now and our bikes lights were on) and we all raced back to the yard we started at I got up to 70Kph in the end and overtook about 5 people.
It was AWESOME!!!
After picking up our action shots (which they had taken of us along the way, we headed back to the hostel for a fun night of drinking and talking around the open fire there and exchanging bike racing stories.
