Nadine suggested we hire a car and go up to Cape Tribulation about an hour and a half north of Cairns.
And so with two other Germans, Julian and Enya we set off north for a couple of days.
On the way we stopped at Mossman Gorge and went for a beautiful walk through the rainforest there and then went for a swim in the natural rock pools.
It was quite magical and I took lots of photos (see the albums "mossman Gorge" and "Cape Tribulation")
Cape Tribulation is as far north as you can go in Australia in a two wheel drive and is absolutly beautiful !
It is surrounded by rainforest and the rainforest goes right down to the ocean.
When we arrived we settled into the local Backpackers called the cape trib beach house which is right on the beach and then went and did a little grocery shopping at the only store in cape trib.
Julian had decided to cook us all dinner and so after buying the groceries we went back to the backpackers and chatted and drank while Julian cooked up a beautiful vegetarian dinner (as Nadine dosent eat meat)
Then after dinner we bought a few bottles of wine took a few chairs and went and sat on the beach staring out at the ocean and chatting till quite late in the evening.
The next morning we had a quick breakfast and went for another rainforest walk and to the local lookout and then lunch.
It was after lunch though that we found the most amazing waterhole that was deep and clear which we swam in. It had a rope swing which we all tried and little fish that swam around our legs.
The girls took lots of photos and we all agreed it was the most beautiful place we had seen yet.
We had only hired the car for two days so grudgingly we drove back to Cairns,
Julian still had a room booked at the dreamtime but Enya , Nadine and myself stayed in a new backpackers called the corona.
