Today was a long, long day. We left Coffs Harbour at 8am this morning and arrived in Sydney about 7pm. But, our drive was one of the most beautiful drives we've had so far. Instead of travelling down the coast we decided to do the inland route that took us through the picturesque Bellinger River valley, then the spectacular drive up the Great escarpment and then down through the amazing Hunter Valley. We experienced rural charm, bohemian characters and cosmopolitan culture in places such as Bellingen, Dorrigo and Urunga. We saw wonderful heritage buildings, impressive waterfalls and spectacular rainforests. It was a day like no other.

We arrived in Sydney, had a wonderful dinner with Dave & Hilary Ellis and spent the night with them in their charming new house. They are really enjoying their newly married life and we had lots to celebrate.
