After another overnight bus (this one wasn't too bad) we arrived in Nha Trang at about 6am. This was another beachy place so we decided to stay for a few days. The beach was nice but it was quite windy so there were a lot of kite surfers about.
On our first day we went to a little Greek restaurant for pita's for lunch and they were so good, we both love Greek food anyway but it was all the better because it was a different taste to Vietnamese food. We broke our own rule of not going back to the same restaurant by having 2 lunches and 3 evening meals there. The food was AMAZING and we've not had feta since we left the UK!
One evening we were crossing the road which basically means you're dicing with death as there are no rules here. I was halfway across when Casson shouted and the next thing I know there's a moped almost on top of me, so close I could see the whites of his eyes. If I'd not looked properly it wouldn't have bothered me so much as it would have been my own fault for being careless but I did look, nothing was there and within seconds a bike was halfway down the road barrelling towards me. We've both gone with the flow with the traffic for months and laugh that we're like locals as we let the bikes weave around us as you never have a clear stretch of road to cross at, you just walk out into the traffic. Now however, we both have the fear, especially me. Luckily in Nha Trang there was the equivalent of a lollipop man who helped people cross the really busy road to the beach, not that the cars stopped for him but you felt a little safer
After Nha Trang we're heading to Dalat for a few days then Ho Chi Minh as we fly to Hong Kong on 24th August. Unfortunately we're on the home straight now with just over 2 months to go before we get home
General points
1) we've already decided what we're having for tea the night we get back. Fish finger butties with salt and pepper chips from the Chinese, a portion each though as neither of us want to share :-)
2) this is our last blog from South East Asia, we've had an amazing time here but we're ready for the next adventure even if we're slightly concerned that we will have to eat chicken feet and pigs trotters in China!
