Knysna Yes we are in fact in Knysna [pronounced NIZENA.] Just returned from a wonderful steam train trip from George to Mossel Bay return! It should go from Knysna, but last year's floods have destroyed a few sections of track. Still, we had wonderful views of the coast, more fynbos vegetation, beautiful wooded valleys and rivers. Stellenbosch 16th - 18th MarchThe Backpackers hostel called Stumble Inn is a hive of activity. Lots of music, a bar and numerous aching sofas that have welcomed just too many weary bodies to be still looking their best! We were in a separate house two doors away. Swellendam 18th March - 21st March Although our accommodation didn't have a stable door, one wouldn't have looked out of place. It was Wendy House 4! Rather comfortable actually, although a bit drafty in the evening and night. Insofar as it nestles at the bottom of a mountain range, Swellendam is like a mini Cape Town. We have arrived in Stellenbosch on 16th March after a week in Cape Town which has, among other delights, the national Gardens at Kirstenbosch. We've made two visits. One to enjoy an open air concert given by the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and secondly to enjoy the gardens for the best part of a day before we left for Stellenbosch.
