I'm in Thailand now but just realized I've written nothing on Vietnam...... I think that's because I didn't really like it. It rained for pretty much the entire 2 weeks I was there. I met some nice people and had some good nights out but I wasn't that impressed with the country on a whole - It doesn't compare to Cambodia or Laos. By far the highlight was Halong Bay, there were 40 of us on a boat for 3 days. Lots of alcohol and embarrassing drinking games, on the second night we slept on this deserted island, it was actually paradise! You could see so many stars, we went night swimming and saw glow worms. I did wakeboarding and for the first time in my life I've found something that I am naturally good at, it was so much fun. Definitely want to do that again in Oz.
I'm traveling now with 3 English girls I met on the boat. We should be sticking together for the rest if Thailand, it's been nice to travel with a group for a long period of time and not have to repeat the same conversation over and over - My god I am so sick of - 1) Where have you been/where are you going? 2) How long are you traveling for? 3) How long have you been going? 4) Where are you going next? I'm interested in hearing other peoples stories but I'm so bored of repeating my own all the time. Anyway, so my best 3 days were shortly followed by the worst 2 days... on the bus from Bangkok to Koh PhiPhi everyone's stuff got stolen. I went to sleep with my bag on my lap (and it was padlocked) but somehow they got it off me and stole 10,000 baht (about 220 quid) my debit and credit card and my mobile phone. b******s. The police didn't care at all so there's nothing anyone could do. They also dropped us off in the middle of nowhere at 6am so we had to pay to get another bus to where we were meant to be going. Loosing the money is a pain but the most annoying thing is that I've lost all my numbers on my mobile (so please feel free to email them through). The day just got worse because when we got to the island all the hostels were fully booked and it was tipping it down with rain. 4 of us had to squeeze into one little beach hut and there was no water (by now we hadn't showered in 2 days). It was just so horrible, if I was by myself I think I would have just broken down crying. Luckily though the girls came up with an alternative solution - Vodka Buckets!
