Heya!

I made it to Melbourne in one piece although at times it was touch and go! I did not know at this point what exactly I had let myself in for!

So after I boarded the bus at an ungodly hour we headed to Canberra! The capital city! After much sleeping and dribbling we got there just after midday! We looked around the New Parliament house and had a guided tour. It was really interesting! They have a strange system over here! After some lunch we boarded the coach and headed to the Snowy Mountains! ironically there was no snow! It only snows a few months of years! The sights on the way there were gorgeous! As I keep promising pictures will follow shortly! We stayed in a hostel that was nice and even better had dinner included! NO MORE NOODLES! YAY! Eating Pizza and chips was amazing! After a few beers headed off to bed!

The next day I was in for a shock! I had to climb the highest mountain in Australia!!! What the hell I didn't even take hiking boots! The task seemed daunting. The first hurdle was taking the Chairlift! I was petrified! Luckily I had a nice calm Nora (a german who has just qualified as a doctor!) Going up was not that bad! But I figured coming down would not be fun! A group of us started the Hike together! Cheering and helping each other along! I did think at one point that i was not going to make it but once I had started I was not going to give up! After a hot sweaty walk I made it to the top! It felt amazing! Until I remembered that I had to come back down again! Argh! The trek down was much easier thankgod! Until the dreaded chairlift! I screamed actually that would not be close! It was way to scary! Luckily Nora was close to hand! Once at the bottom I had a well deserved Cigarette!

After, we headed to our next hostel which was ages away! A fish and chip supper greeted us all! We brought some beers and were chilling out when the hostel through us out and sent us to carry on drinking in the park! I have never been and sat in a park and drank! First for many things over here! Finally got to bed, some what drunk at 12.30am! Alarms set for 5.00am! Whoops!

On the last leg of the bus trip we went to squeaky beach! Another gorgeous beach! Due to my burnt, peeling and blistered back I had to sit in a Manchester United shirt, kindly lent to me by Chris! When I gave it back it was very sweaty and smelly. He said he was never going to wash it! Lol.

Finally arrived in Melbourne! Checked into the worst hostel ever, had a shower and went to meet my Cousin, Sophie. Had a great night watching Cat Power sing! She is an American Singer. Google her, I think your like her! Sophie friends came with me too pick my bags up and I checked out as was going to stay at Sophie's house. I conned the hostel out of 30 bucks so it meant i got the money back from the hostel! Took the bags and all my stuff to a pub and got pissed. Got home and crashed on the floor - with all my belongings, 2 backpacks, a handbag and shopping bag! Was very impressed!

My plans are to chill out at Sophie's with her friends and then start to job hunt from Monday! Wish me luck!
