It's been nice knowing you guys, if you ever want to see me again, you'll have to come visit me in Abu Dhabi, because IM NEVER EVER LEAVING!!! This place is incredible!
I'll start from the beginning of my day. I had my alarm set for 9am. I figured if I wanted to shower, have breakfast, pack the last of my stuff & checkout at 10am, an hour would be plenty of time. Apparently the hotel staff did not think so. At 7.37am the phone rings. They were reminding me I had to pay for my laundry. I said, yes I knew this, I'd see them at check out. So I went back to bed. At 8.12am I get another call. It was my taxi driver letting me know he was here. I DIDN'T NEED A TAXI UNTIL 10AM!!! Which I told him. He said he'd wait. So I crawled back into bed, not to sleep, but to just relax. At about that time I heard my door being opened! Freaking out, I found out it was a maid wanting to clean my room. Check out isn't even until 10am!!! What the hell! Are they trying to give me a hint!? When she left I lay in bed for about 15mins before deciding it was pointless and got up to shower. I was undressed and running the water when the damn phone rang again! It was housekeeping informing me he was on his way up with the bag I put in to be repaired (the zip broke). I was getting fed up by this stage and told him, no, you can wait for me to be ready! I enjoyed my shower then called him back and he promptly showed up, making me wonder if he had been waiting outside my room...
After that ordeal, I had breakfast then chilled in my room for ages because my schedule had been interrupted. When I decided to check out early I headed down and wanted to fix up my laundry I had done the day before. I actually want you to think, how much in US dollars my laundry was. I had about 5 shirts, 6 pants, a few undies, 2 dresses & a few other things. Just think. Then wrote down your guess. How much was it? Because I had to pay, honest to god, $115USD!!!!! Yes, you read that correct. One hundred and fifteen good old American dollars!!! I was speechless. I almost refused to pay but they already had my credit card so I had to choice really. I argued, believe me, but it did no good. I was FUMING. And I cried a little. So I'll be writing a lovely review of their website. By the way, this was Hotel Boulevard in Nairobi. Tell everyone!!!
So I caught my taxi to the airport, and arrived there 4.5 hours before my flight! Yay! I killed time easily, duty free shops and cafes are good for that. I also found out I was on the same flight as Patrica! A girl from my trip! So I talked with her for about an hour while we waited for our flight. It was good. And so was the flight. I watched a good old classic movie - 'The Parent Trap' and then 'Racing Strips' which seemed fitting due to all the zebras I'd seen recently. As we flew over Abu Dhabi, I could see how rich it was. It was so beautiful. We landed and a caught a taxi to my hotel. As we were driving I could see even better how amazing this place was. Trees are perfectly lined, it was clean, there were so many incredible buildings everywhere and the lights just seem to go with the flow. It didn't look cluttered, just perfect. I was in love. Got to the hotel & it just sealed the deal. It's the most amazing place I've ever been. I can't really describe it, it's something you have to see yourself. I cannot wait to wake up early tomorrow to explore what I can before having to leave - if I do!
