Heather Hey Amy, just ploughed through your last few blogs. Wow, you are amazing. So intrepid!!!! I've never thought of seeing any of the stuff you're raving about. Must be a young person thing!!!??? I am so pleased that you are having such an amazing time. Riding camels, floating in dead water, wallowing in mud....good grief!!! Did your skin change? I've had people try to sell me products made from Dead Sea mud that are supposed to be the be-all and end-all. Did you buy any? Did you find the big shopping centre in Dubai? What were you actually doing there? I see you flew into Aba Dabhi (or however it's spelt), which is about an hour's car ride away from Dubai. Will you be coming back through there? I presume you're in Egypt at the moment??? Stay safe.....
re: Dead Sea, JordanHeather Good heavens Amy, it's a wonder you weren't poisoned - eating all that crap.....the exotic meats I mean. But you chose wisely with desert and cocktails. I hope you're getting recipes for these cocktails???? And it seems like you were genuinely sorry to finish the 'trek' across Africa. I'm just pleased that you survived it....Keep safe.
re: Nairobi, KenyaHeather Hi Amy....you r the best blogger!! Absolutely riveting stuff. Can't believe u are having so much fun in that Godforsaken place....!!! I guess it's an age thing?? Like seeing the 'big 5' animals etc, and staring at a leopard for an hour. Wow. You definitely sound like it's just what you planned!!! But it is just so excellent that you are enjoying it just so much. Are you going to Egypt?? Take care, wherever you go....and keep blogging!!!
re: Serengeti & Norongorongo Crater, Tanzaniaamyliz I wish I ended up looking like a skeleton! Best weight loss ever! Haha but yes, I defs packed gastro stuff!
re: Dar Es Salaam, Tanzaniaamyliz Hahaha oh wow! She washed once!? I guess I can't complain, I've just gotten my washing back & it's the second time I've had it done & it's not getting done again until I'm back home! I didn't blister with this sunburn for some reason, but my legs are peeling so bad! It's so gross, looks like I have a creepy disease!
re: Chitimba Camp, MalawiHeather Oops, I didn't realize we were up to date. Will go look at pics now. I presume you're up to date with the flooding here in Qld???? I'm surrounded by water. Can't go anywhere. Pub bridge has been over again, and Moran's Gully is monstrous. Public hol today, so no support for Luke. Peter rang and said Glenore Grove flooding, so he won't probably get here tomoz either. Could be a very long weekend for me. Luke and I are home alone since Friday. We're both starting to go stir crazy. We've had 250ml of rain here (10 inches in our language). Can't remember getting that much rain before. Even 1974 floods we only got 8 inches. Unbelievable..... You take care.....
re: Zanzibar, TanzaniaHeather Sorry, didn't realize I could 'rate' your blog......look out!!! So glad to hear you got pampered. Who would've thought??? I haven't looked at any pics yet. Will do that in a tick.....
re: Zanzibar, TanzaniaHeather Jeez girl......Talk about roughing it.. Yeah, I never thought of aloe vera. It was probably invented in Africa. So good for sunburn. And you must've packed stuff for gastro??? That'd be a given.... You'll end up looking like a skeleton.
re: Dar Es Salaam, TanzaniaHeather Yep, thoroughly enjoying your journey.....not as much as you, and easier for me to experience it on paper....but it's all good. I can feel for you about the sunburn...I did that to myself many times, and there's really no cure....just time. Do you blister? I used to come up in massive blisters, especially on my shoulders. They hurt...... I'm also impressed with your sending out washing. What an amazing idea. However, I have no idea what a kwache is worth, so no idea if you were robbed. But definitely a necessity. You should've got tips from Tif before you went. I think she only washed about once a month when they were travelling!!!! Ew......
re: Chitimba Camp, MalawiHeather Good heavens child....you'll ruin your skin....I hope you're moisturising regularly!!!! Love the toilet story....welcome to Africa!!! And I was thinking of you on your bday. Obviously so was everyone else. Excellent. Fancy experiencing a special birthday at the end of the earth....!!!! Glad you enjoyed it so much. I'm thinking by the time you get back, you'll be the same colour as the Africans.....
re: Kande Beach, MalawiHeather amyyyyyyyyyyyy. just found your blog. bl--- hell. I just figured they must'nt have internet in Afrida!!! der....... So, have just read your first 4 days, and about to continue. Just wanted to say I'm up and running now!!!! Sounds like you've enjoyed these first days. So far, nothing would appeal to me, especially the spiders.....and the travelling....blah blah
re: Livingstone, ZambiaHeather Okay so now I know for sure that you're nuts. What would induce you to jump into nothingness???? Weird...... Your job sounds just excellent. And working for accommodation is the best idea you've had, I'd say. Renting a house would probably be very expensive as well. Keep on keeping on......and blogging, of course. I don't mind a day by day blog.....
re: Jobs & Bungy Jumping!Jessica HAHA! have fun jumping off of the next one hahahaha... your job sounds AMAZING!! the 5 staff, does that include the bosses?
