Friday 8th May
An early-ish start again- this time to meet a tour bus. We are the first ones picked up and the driver tells us he doesn't speak English. We stop at three more places to collect more passengers so we make 7. Across the bridge we go to Brazil. The bridge is half painted Argentina colours and half Brazil colours. The border crossing is nothing and we wait in the van while the driver takes care of it all. We kept driving straight to Paraguay and park. The streets are full with stores and then stalls. Our driver takes to a electronic store that is trust worthy apparently. We are given 2 hours to go shopping. We wonder through out the malls and streets. My main impression is: junk, and how do these ppl make a living with lines of ppl selling the same stuff. All the ppl approaching you and in another language starts to feel almost like harassment. Malcolm. Must look like an easy target- he seems to get caught into many conversations, all concluding with no. My secret is: don't quite look at them, smile, and shake my head no. Don't even have to speak. Works. I don't have to know what they are asking or trying to sell, because the answer is already no. After a long 2 hours we head back to Brazil for lunch where it is all you can eat buffet. Unfortunately the food isn't great, but there is plenty to fill you.
After lunch we head to the Brazilian iguazu falls for 3 hours. It is a very different view: an amazing panoramic.
