Monday 4th May After a fitful sleep we finally get up around 10. Evelina gives us a banana smoothie then we go across the street to her work and she gives us a tour. Building in South America is virtually wood free being made or concrete, steel and brick. Work celebrates her birthday with a cake. Sunday 3rd May Today is Evelina's birthday. I finally figure that's what the party is for! So glad I found out so I can get her something. Would be embarrassing to turn up with nothing. We have a slow start, then head off to do some shopping. I have a few ideas. We stop at a small department store. It opens into the street from the home decor section. Saturday 2nd may We have a quiet day overall we didn't sleep well. Just a restful morning and we listen to a sermon. The rain finally clears up in the afternoon and we go for a walk. My legs are a bit sore. No wonder: if you sight see by foot the kms add up quick. As it is we walk 6-7km just today. Friday 1st May A slow start, but we dug into some cleaning of the apartment. It's the least we can do for the free accommodation! It's rewarding to see improvement! Thursday 30th April When we get up and have breakfast we decide to head off to the last walkable area we haven't been to yet. Its a long day of walking but we see lots of monuments, parks, the university of law, the observatory, the national library, art museums and the beautiful rose gardens.
