Hey everyone, well we are here safe and sound in Dubbo now, about as far outback as we have been!! I shall first update you all of our wonderful travels in Sydney for the past few days.....
We had another day in Avoca, home of the giant cricket!! this may not sound very terrifying but it was the most hilarious bug situation we have had so far. Sean and Rach were out so me and sarah were just chilling in the house and decided it was probably about time to shut the back door, at this point sarah screamed and we noticed a GIANT cricket in the doorway. Now....we know they really are utterly harmless, and they are by no means dangerous, but we were screaming the house down, im surprised the neighbours didnt call round!! Anyway, after about half an hour of screaming, rolling hazelnuts at the cricket, throwing towels at the cricket and trying to kick the rug, me and sarah finally bravely held hands and kicked the rug outside and managed to lock the door, something Rach found totally hilarious on her return later that night!! We were also faced with our first Spider trauma, we didnt actually believe the stories of bugs over here but there are loads of spiders!! Before going to bed on our first night rach warned us of the Funnel web problem in their house (The most deadliest spider in the world) and the red backs (second most deadliest) Living in their house / garden!! This lead to sarah spending a night in my bed when we found a tiny spider on her windowsill, something Sean and Rach again found hilarious!! Thankfully we are both safe and unharmed!! We went to the reptile park in Avoca where sarah was picked from the crowd to hold a snake around her neck which was very amusing. Oh and I pulled my nose piercing out with a towel by accident, so I am now unpierced again......!
ANYWAY, we went back to Sydney for three more days, most of which were spent sending Xmas Pressies, which was really bloody expensive, and sleeping // packing. We did have one night out with some Ozzie business men and a Belgium man we found in the hostel, whom it later turned out was in our room which was very annoying due to his obsession with Belgium ''House Music'' which let me tell you now, is totally and utterly and completely rubbish, and should never have to be endured by any self respecting person, No offence Belgium!! Ooooo and sarah got her tattoo!! which is BEAUTIFUL, and we have called him Caleb, and decided he is a he. He is lovely!!
We endured a 6 hours train journey, on the slowest train in the world to where we are now in Dubbo, we are staying with the Macphersons in a gorgeous house in the middle of nowhere!! Its beautiful here although me and Sarah are having a bit of an issue with the flies!! So much so that Janette has baught us both headnets today, and is kindly reminding us its safe to wear them around here as we dont know anyone!! We are here for about a week and 1/2 and are currently planning our trip to Byron Bay, which is probing to be totally traumatic and stressful, but im sure we will work it out!!
Anyway, having a fabulous time, thankfully we brought the rain to Dubbo with us from England so for the first time in three months it rained here yesterday, which is apparently VERY good news, something me and Saz are having trouble understanding!! So today has not been to hot, although we are told its only going to get worse!!! Shall keep you all updates as much as poss. Lots of Love Amy and Sarah xxx
