Day one in Roma:
Today we had totally planned to wake up early and get the 8.00am shuttle bus into the centre of Rome. However that plan failed and we ended up getting the 12.00pm bus, since we were so tired.
We got dropped off by the Vatican and forgot it was Sunday so of course there was a service going on inside the basilica. Which meant that St. peters square was absolutely packed.
We saw many nuns and monks, which was all very exciting.
Of course we then spent the rest of the day being very touristy and saw most if the sights of Rome.
The trevi fountain was as beautiful as ever. Spolit a bit by the many annoying men trying to sell you all sorts of crap they can. One of the most popular ones in Italy is a squealing plastic pig.
They try and sell you these things like you desperately need.
I can safely a have no room in my life for a plastic pig.
We also visited the Spanish steps and the pantheon, where u can safely say I had the best gelati (ice-cream) ever!
They had over 150 flavour so we decided to get four scoops each.
I had chocolate orange, kinder bueno, mint and caramel. It was heavenly.
The day ended with a surprising thunder storm. A massive one. We got drenched!
