Today we woke early again hoping that the weather would turn in our favour and we could see the sites! Realising that we hadn't exercised in quite a few days we decided that a bike tour of San Fran would be the best medicine to the fatty american diet we have encompassed. We took a bike tour called bay city bike tour which took us all the way to the Golden Gate bridge with a few other sites along the way such as Alcatraz, the Bay bridge, the marine district and to the museum of modern art. The tour ended in Sausalito which in my opinion wasn't all that. To get back to the car we decided to catch the ferry back to San Francisco. Just before the trip we were warned that San Francisco has a huge amount of homeless people so we weren't surprised when a colourful character decided to entertain all the tourists with a gaffer fixed guitar and a dog in a giraffe beanie. Now I understand that some people get into financial trouble and cannot dig themselves out of their situations. Most people feel sorry for homeless blokes and laugh at all the silly jokes and gags, but this guy really pissed me off. Attempting to make people laugh he would sneakily pinch the dog to "make it sing"! I just wanted to take the poor thing off him, but I was stuck in the fenced off area awaiting the ferry. Hope he made enough money to buy the pup some food at least! Phil is a nerdy bloke and before we travelled to the US he explained to me that he had a pen pal in Modesto CA who he had known since he was 13 years old. After our bike ride we hopped back into the car and headed to meet up with Lindsay for the first time, exciting stuff!
