Today we woke up early to drive to San Francisco and what a trip it was! 11 and a half hours is a long time, although we did dilly dally a fair bit! To begin with we lost our way driving up the coast, and it took us an excruciatingly long hour to find our way back! Finally finding the correct way up the coast, it turned out to be a fairly uneventful trip. At some point driving on highway one we stopped at a little viewing point and saw a few hilarious creatures, Elephant Seals. Many tourists like Phil and I stopped to take a little peak at the seals. Mostly the huddled masses stared at them in Aww but we couldn't contain our laughter. The seals were the weirdest creatures I have seen in a long time. Massive, scary long b*****s! So we took few photos and hightailed it out of there before our giggles could offend the tourists. Healthy food is a really hard thing to find in America so Phil and i have been hawk eyeing the food sector and it paid off! For lunch we stopped at a little cafe named Fig Good Food in Atascadero, it was delicious and healthy! Further along the scenery turned from winding road to beautiful cliff face and sea view, even though the drive was longer the coast was not a road to be missed! We then stopped at a little gallery just before the Big Spur, a gorgeous little place built of water tanks. One thing I've learnt, American coffee is disgusting and has nothing on the great stuff that comes out of a quaint cafe in Australia! I guess I'll just have to stay high on life instead of caffeine. :) Finally our road trip ended in Pacifica, a kind of suburb of San Francisco and we could not see a dam thing! Everything was covered in a thick fog, it was such a let down! Hopefully the fog will clear tomorrow and we get to see the famous bridge! We rented a cheap hotel called Americas best value inn, as we put down our bags and started to explore through the room Phil pulled out the desk chair to find a used pair of white undies that some fellow had unfortunately left behind! Poor bloke is probably missing his knickers. Earlier in this entry I've said our trip wasn't very eventful but looking back on what I've written allot of stuff went down today!!
