After a hot few nights (and days) in the camper we decided to book into Cable Beach Backpackers to take advantage of some air-conditioning! We managed to do a decent deal as we stayed for 4 night so it was't all bad! Nice to have a shower too after a few days on the road and camping in the middle of nowhere!

We spent our first day cleaning ourselves, clothes and Gerro (a name we finally decided on for the camper, Geraldine with a typical Aussie shortening!)! We then explored Broome itself along with Cable Beach - yet another deserted gorgeous Aussie beach!

Then came the sad day when we had to return Gerro! An emotional goodbye to a trusty ride! 2,500 miles in 2 weeks at 50mph (3.5 hrs of driving a day had we driven everyday!!) Big place this island!

After that we did a lot of blog writing as you will have noticed with all the updates in the last couple of days! Also a lot of photo sorting. We have over 1000 photos of just Australia so you just have the highlights! At least we don't have a film camera!!

Inbetween the blog updates we have enjoyed the pool at the backpackers as it is pretty hot and humid now wea re in the tropics. Off to Melbourne later today which will hopefully be less humid if not cooler. Australian Open tennis and Aus vs India Test at the Adelaide Oval both on when we are there so will have to see if we can get to either of them!
