The day started early with a tour of the city sights by bus, finishing with a visit to the second level of the Eiffel Tower. The views from this level were great however Brad wanted to go to the very top. Fortunately the guide convinced him that it would be at least a four hour wait to get the ticket and that was not the time we could afford. Maybe next time we are in Paris. We did walk down the steps from this level - 600 steps - and the legs were feeling like jelly by the time we got to the bottom.
In the afternoon we headed down to the Hotel de Invalides (or army museum) and is where Napoleon Bonapart is entombed in seven coffins. After that we wandered over the Alexander III Pont (bridge) with its ornate statues, between the Grand and Petite Palaces and down to Cleopatras Needle at the end of the Champs Elysees.
That evening we had a Seine River Dinner cruise followed by an illuminations tour of Paris ending at the Trocadero to view the Eiffel Tower with its twinkling lights.
