Mon 11/6
Our train got in very early this morning. We were at our hostel by 6:30am so went back to bed for a few hours. The hostel is very, very nice! Cheapest so far in China and by far the best. Its new so imagine their prices will go up. Went for a wander in the afternoon. Nothing special, typical city! Went to a Walmart we found to get replacement flip-flops and handbag, the ones we have are coming to the end of their life. We were lucky to get anything, chinese people are very small! I nearly had to look at the mens selection!lol. Spent the evening in the bar with a french couple and 2 guys from Holland who arrived with us in the morning. We are planning to go to the terracotta warriors together tomorrow. Mon is free red wine with steak night so we couldn't pass it over! By far the best meal we have had in a while! There was a guy playing in the bar later on, he was really good! He sang in both Chinese and English.
Tue 12/6 (Today)
Visited the famous Terracotta Warriors today. It was great, followed lonely planets advice and went round the pits backwards, leaving the best to last. It was much smaller than I imagined but amazing all the same. It toke us most of the day to wander round and had a late lunch in a random chinese restaurant just outside, we had no idea exactly what we were ordering but all the dishes were really good this time, (no pigs intestine that we know of!lol) When we got back to Xi'an we wandered around, saw the bell and drum towers then went to the muslim quarter and night market for dinner. Tried some interesting snacks, spring-roll style stuff and similar food, it was all good but a bit greasy for me. Sitting drinking beer and watching the men attempt to play pool now!lol.
