Yesterday was our last day in London. Our hostel that night was overall the worst so far. It was so noisy the beds were squeaky and we had the worst roommates and ill leave it at that. We headed out early to the train station to store our luggage. Found out it's open 24hrs so we now had a plan for the night...yay.
Anyways, we hopped a train to Hampton Court in Surrey to spend our day. The palace was awesome with beautifully painted walls, intricate ceiling details, tapestries, and full of King Henry the VIII history. The gardens at the palace were amazing. Definitely the prettiest I've ever seen. This castle was cool because it was so expansive. We got some ice cream and ate it by the Thames River and waited for our train back.
When we got back, we walked over to Kings Cross station to try and find platform 9 3/4 but we had no luck. The time was around 7 and we now had about 10 hours to kill at this train station. It wasn't exactly my favorite. Somehow we made it through the night pulling our second all nighter in London.
Our Chunnel left this morning at 6:20am and brought us to Calais. We expected it to be an easy route from there to Amsterdam, but when is that ever the case. We waited an hour for a train to Lille Europe, then waited there for 3 hours, got on a train to Brussels, waited an hour and our now on our way to Amsterdam....finally. We'll make it there someway or another. Excited about our little 2 person camper tonight. This should all be quite interesting.
