Goa day 2...
The Guru and I have decided to head off to the beach for a day of rest.
India so far has been anything but exotic. There is rubbish everywhere and I dont mean the odd carton or bottle lying about. The locals dont think twice about throwing litter on the floor and there are piles of it lying on the side of every road.Even the beach is littered with bottle tops, cigarette butts and dead fish.
We eventually found a tidy part of the beach and shack and settled there for the day, amused by the young Indian girls enjoying the sea still wearing their sari's. And watching the lifeguards organise everyone in the sea. This is a relatively new thing to India, lifeguards, as at least 1 person per day was dying on these beaches.Remember what i said about there being no health and safety here.Sangita was our "help" for the day and for RS 800 both me and James, sorry the Guru got a full body massage from her.Sangita like many of the beach workers only come to Goa for the season to make money to take back home to their families elsewhere in the country.
Sun sets here around 6-ish so we decided to stay on the beach for as long as possible to see it setting over the Indian Ocean. This wasn't to be as a storm came instead. We stayed to watch the thunder and lightning and watch the clouds gradually hide everything on the horizon before we left.
