Day one Goa (sorry its late)...
With our new found fondness for Kingfisher Airlines, we flew to Goa from Mumbai on a 45 minute flight. We got to sample another Indian dish of a veg cutlet served with curried chick peas.On a 45 minute flight, BA eat your heart out.
We were greeted at our hotel in Calangute by a swarm of mosquito's which straight away had a mini feast on my face.
My first impression of our room was that it resembled a prison cell, or what i imagined a secure unit would look like. The bathroom was not even its own room but more of a cubicle just off the bedroom.Where we saved money on the room I was going to have to spend it on drink to enable me to sleep in it.So off we went to explore Goa's local eateries and bars.
Half way through the night we decided to go back to the hotel to see what its in-house entertainment was like.It turned out to be a local man Kevin, with a cassio keyboard and a microphone. It also turned out to be one of THE funniest nights we have had. Before I go ahead with Kevin, let me explain about James's new career.
Not satisfied with his international career in eye modelling, James has decided to be the UN Ambassador for Happiness.James is quite popular amongst the locals and children are sent up to him to shake his hand from their parents. After 2 minutes of being in our hotel bar for an evening with Kevin, he had made friends with an Indian boy who was thrilled to be chatting about football with his new English friend.
It is holiday time in India so our hotel is full of Indian families so the bar this evening was pretty full.Kevin was just simply awful but we had to stay as it was entertaining in its own right. As time went on, Kevin being the perfect host decided to let the customers sing and straight away saw the "white" man in the crowd and headed over to James.
Looking back now i wish i could have stopped laughing if only for a minute to record James and Kevin singing, wait for it......... "Feed the world"Hearing James belt outthese words, then...." make it a better place" has inspired james's career change and for me to start calling him "The Guru"
