Alli & Pete's Adventures
Well I was only back from the Oz trip for about 3 days before Pete & I went off for a long weekend in Belfast, one of my most favourite cities to visit in the world. We did the Murals & Peacewall tour, as well as the tour which takes in the Antrim Coast, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge & Giants Causeway, finishing off with a trip to the Bushmills Distillery where Pete was lucky enough to be one of the four people that got to sample about a dozen different whiskies, whilst the rest of us got one drink only & watched their faces screw up when they didn't like some of the drinks they tasted ! We also discovered a wonderful restaurant called Carriages where you get a fantastic 3 course meal and a bottle of wine for £10 each, great value ! The next day we ate breakfast at Delaneys, another wonderful eating establishment that is great value. Don't worry, we didn't just spend the weekend eating & drinking, we also went and listened to Irish Ceili (jam session) in a nice pub. We noticed two deaf guys, so Pete wrote a note asking if I could practice my sign language (which I was enrolled in a course for at the time) and I spent the next 2 hours conversing with them, while Pete watched the football ! Belfast is so laid back, I feel really comfortable being in this city.
