Alli & Pete's Adventures
This was my first trip to North America, stopping on the way home to Australia for Christmas. I spent 3 nights in Vancouver, before moving onto the USA for a few nights too. Vancouver was a great city by day, but I found it a bit scary walking around at night by myself (I was surprised by the number of homeless people hanging about town). I did a city tour and was told by the tour guide that Peter Gabriel would be playing at the GM Stadium that evening, so I rushed back to the hotel after the tour and arranged to buy a ticket for this concert. It was fantastic night and I really enjoyed his show, where he had so many special effects to accompany his music, as well as having a really good support act called 'The Blind Boys of Alabama' (I bought their CD too). The next day I went on a full day tour to Whistler Mountain, where I caught a gondola up the mountain and played about in the snow for a few hours. I was going to try skiing, but I was by myself and didn't have too long, plus it looked like they have a lot more of the 'difficult runs' than what I have been used to skiing in the past. The last day I spent looking about the town, before getting on the plane for the next leg of my round-the-world journey.
