Early transfer (aren't they all!) to Jo'burg airport ready for the epic journey north via Kigali to Nairobi. The flight with Rwandair was fine but I hate it when there is security right at the boarding gate where they take your water and then don't let you buy another one on the other side.
Landed in Nairobi and met the guy I thought was the taxi driver but he turned out to be the guy who was taking me to my taxi. Apparently the police at the airport are corrupt and make any excuse to fine the taxi drivers - welcome to East Africa!
The journey across Nairobi to Wildebeest Eco Camp was horrendous - traffic everywhere and always changing lanes or making up new ones.
The camp was gorgeous with a nice pool (had closed by the time I got there), landscaped gardens and a nice bar area. Went to the bar for food and met other Absolute Africa travellers however none seemed to be on the same tour as me - in fact some didn't seem to know what tour they were on!
Early night (not unusual) as we had a 6am pick up - as I said always early transfers!
