Koh Phangan is well known because every month it hosts the biggest party in Asia, known as the full moon party. The majority of travellers in Thailand all go to this island on the set date so its a good time to catch up with all the people you had met along the way. I started the celebrations with a pool party at a hotel. It was crowded and many people were in the pool. Unfortunately someone fell on my head in the pool and knocked me unconscious so i went straight home then when the shock wore off I had a severe pain in my foot so went to the thai hospital and got an xray (it was very old fashioned) luckily it was just sprained but I got given "Tiny Tim" style crutches to use, and for the next day I just rested in a hammock by the beach.
Thursday was the full moon party so I returned the crutches to ensure I didn't lose them on the beach and hobbled to the main area in search of a full moon party t-shirt as it was customary for everyone to wear neon colours and logos. I then stated getting ready, got painted in neon paint and had complimentary drinks courtesy of our hostel and went out in search of the party. The beach was packed bars everywhere awash with bright luminous colour. Unfortunately the remainder of the night I have been unable to remember but Im sure it was good.
The last day in Koh Phangan I just rested, I am disappointed to say it is overrated I have seen better islands and better beach parties and it is too hyped up. My next destination is Koh Tao a beautiful Island intended to relax and recover, I cant wait to leave this island and get there Koh Phangan hasn't brought me the best luck.

Mum Stanley Such a shame you look really happy in the photo and then you had the unfortunate accident. Thank goodness it wasn't any more serious. You have met so many lovely people on your travels and seen some amazing things. Sounds as though you expected more at the party. Never mind. Hope the ankle is getting stronger and not causing to much discomfort. xxxx
