I met 4 American girls and 1 english boy on the ferry across to Koh Samui who had been on my boat tour the previous day, and we decided if we grouped together it would be more fun and cheaper accommodation so I joined there group. They were also travelling, but were coming to the end of there trip.
We decided as the full moon party we were going to be attending next week would be tiering and extreme that we would use koh Samui to chill out. So we laid out on the sand and read our books.
The food on the island was a little different than elsewhere there were lots of BBQs and fresh fish. The many fishing boats can be seen at night across the sea illuminated with bright green lights.
Attending 1 of the BBQs was an experience. The cook everything on the grill in front of you and you can pay for an all you can eat seafood. I chose king prawns and ribs. He stoked up the grill and it went straight from grill to plate with the added extra of salad, corn and choice of potatoes. The prawns were split open, and so large, juicy and fresh, with the ribs as a perfect accompaniment. I also tried barracuda, blue crab and red snapper also very tasty. I would say it was possibly my favourite meal do far, without a doubt favourite if Thailand!
The next day we booked our boat to Koh Phangan ready for the mass beach party then went to the beach. Koh Samui is more of a family and couples place so I dived right in and got to work on a sand sculpture, creating an octopus and some of his sealife friends. It was epic then we went and sampled the clubs which were very tame and expensive compared to elsewhere, but were not too bad. I tried fried Bananas and coconut and it melts in the mouth. This Island was perfect to use a chilled stop over before Koh Phangan and the weather was beautiful whilst we were there. Now I am relaxed I an ready for the craziness that the fullmoon party will bring.
Inventory: same my flipflops broke but were swiftly replaced.
Belly: 100% and full of fresh fish.

Mum Stanley You never fail to amaze me. I can't believe you have tried so many different fish. They must be so fresh. Full Moon Party sounds a bit worrying, I would take great care as I am sure they will be many who over indulge with alchohol and go a bit crazy. Glad you have met up with more lovely people. Building sandcastles was always your favourite occupation and the octopus is incredibly realistic, very creative. Keep safe. xxxxx
Maureen Octopus = AMAZING!!! xxxx
