Arriving on this small island I could see it was a backpackers party haven!
I found a 20 bed dorm to sleep in and then went exploring. There were many bars, bamboo tattoo parlours and street food stalls and beer shops around the beach.
After sampling the bars on the beach i got up early the next day and went on a boat tour with 20 other people. This was a long boat and we first travelled to see the viking caves where some of the group did cliff diving. We then moved on to a lagoon and did a bit of swimming. The water was so warm and shimmered in the sun. After we found a spot near some rocks took some snorkels and looked at the fishes. I didn't get on with this too well though so didnt snorkel for long.
The film "the beach" staring Leonardo dicaprrio was filmed on Maya bay near Koh PhiPhi we travelled to there its a national trust beach and I had to go up very steep steps and rocks to get there but it was beautiful caves are surrounding the beach area almost cutting it off. It the most stunning beach Ive seen and you can see why they used it in the film. After this we saw the sunset over the sea and then put the snorkels back on to see the plankton which are only visible in the dark. When you look in the water with the goggles and move your hands tiny shiny particles light up and move arounds its like fantasia.
That night i went had a tasty red thai curry and watched a fire show on the beach where they light up a skipping rope and get people to jump in it but they purposely try and get people burnt it was quite comical to watch and I winced alit watching people try and avoid the fire.
I got an early night because the next day I was getting a boat to an Island to Koh Sumui which is a large island on the east of Thailand.

Mum Stanley Your adventures just get more and more incredible. The beaches must be awesome. Snorkelling doesn't look very glamorous but I am sure you are able to see wondrous things in the sea. And good food to go with it. Keep on blogging xx

It seems like your having a fantastic time and you have seen so much :) snorkelling is well fun even though it's not flattering especially if you can do it on koh Tao!
