Today has been a very cool day and possibly my last on the islands. I met up with my Swedish friend, Christina and we hired a moped between us. She's driven before but was keen for me to drive which was ok with me coz its so much fun!

We tried to follow the map round the island but most of the roads are dirt tracks so you just have to guess.

At last the weather is brilliant, which made the day even better but got us both a little burnt (actually I lie, it got me a little burnt and Christina got a wicked tan, grr).

We made it to Jansen bay after realising we had no fuel and navigating round the island. At first I was worried she'd led me to some dump of a place but we walked a bit and found the secluded bay which was absolutely gorgeous. Its part of a holiday resort so its very posh and pretty quiet, just a few families and a beautiful bit of sea complete with bar, spa, restaurant, massage parlour etc...

We spent the whole day sunning ourselves and making use of the bar and Christina's friend Carl came down to join us. We rode home via another bay (shark bay) and some good dirt track driving. I'm definately getting more confident on the scooter but its much harder having someone elses life to worry about on the back, made me drive really sensibly, which obviously was a good thing.

Escaped with no major injuries this time, although after lecturing Christina about how not to touch the exhaust with your legs, we both burnt ourselves at the same time on another ped while we were re-fuelling, god damn it, but no scar luckily. Also, some very helpful cleaner fish in the clear sea water decided to bite both of us on cuts at our feet which hurt so much and made us pretty reluctant to swim.

All in all a fantastic day. Also met 2 great irish lads last night at dinner who I spent the evening in bars with and one of them is up for coming to Bangkok with me which I must say is a relief!

Off out for food now, and very weiry. Thank god for that expensive room I can chill out in later!
