hello from Kiwi land! Was a bit sad leaving Jenny in Fiji this morning after going through so much togther but caught a taxi to the airport in Nadi and met an awesome American guy heading my way. he sorted his boarding pass so we could sit togther so it was really nice to have someone cool to chat with. He is off to Christchurch and working on farms to make his way up through New Zealand and no doubt I will see him on the way down. Was really easy doing it on my own, the flight passed really quickly and I got a shuttle bus straight to the door of my hostel. Staying at Base and its so awesome, has a travel agent, laundry, internet cafe, spa, diner and even a nightclub which makes quite a change from the basic places in Fiji. Got into bed as soon as I arrived and woke up in the evening when I heard people in my dorm talking about Southampton-turns out that 3 out of the 6 of us are from Surrey and went to uni in Soton, very bizarre. Got on really well with a girl called Vicky and looks like we're going to do quite a bit of travelling togther. Spent this morning at Aukland Museum. Took a while to walk there but its a huge place and had displays of Mauri culture and we watched a show where they do the Haku "All Blacks" dance. After this I explored a bit of the city with Vicky and have booked a time slot at Minus 5 tonight which is a bar made completely of ice and at Minus 5 degrees constantly. can't wait for that. At the moment my plans are to have one more day in Auckland then do a tour of the Bay of Islands and get on the Kiwi experience Monday which will take me around North Island and then the South. Planning to do my sky dive in north island and think I'll book it soon so I cant chicken out. Having a great time so far and enjoying meeting new people, its fantastic!
