Just heading to Sydney for birthday weekend to end Australia on a bus which is less comfortable than the SE Asian ones; but the driver is much more informative. I left Byron bay feeling the local vibe but it wasn't for me. Since the others were leaving today it made sense for me to get the overnight bus tonight and I will spend the day in Sydney before meeting Chris Hockin tonight. I genuinely hope the weather picks up...
Last night was really chilled, there were 5 of us left, Tim, Valentine, Sabine and Lucas. We discussed how there are 3 things everywhere in the world: Macdonalds, Coca Cola and Germans. Then played scenario games where you have to work out what happened with yes or no questions and I showed them crossed or uncrossed. Oh so much fun. And I learned a new one involving dice, seagulls and polar bears.
My excitement for New Zealand is well outweighing my excitement for Australia, especially since I was just getting a load of tips about it from the girls who moved into our room yesterday and from Nicola from Middlesbrough who looks like Maz's nth sister! I will need to top up my sunscreen supplies though. As good old Baz Luhrman said, "Use sunscreen."

• Tired and anxious but excited for such an unprepared birthday weekend...
• I have been invited to go sailing on Sunday :D ...
Food: I almost finished a tub of peanut butter on toast this week but made up for it by snacking on healthy seeds and sultanas on the bus :s last night we had yummy tacos with celery, kidney beans, carrots, sweetcorn, red onion, pork mince and half pitta/half fajita breads. Topped off with lettuce it was a highlight!
