Last night in Kyoto we went to a bar/pub called 'A-Bar'. It was really hidden and we actually walked past it about 3 times before noticing it. Totally worth it. I had nan pizza and chicken chunks in sauce and they were to die for! This type of bar is typical in Japan and we were soon chatting and having a merry old time with everyone in there. It had wooden benches walls and tables and felt cosy. The toilet wall had a load of banter between Americans and Scots which was really entertaining to read, but not appropriate for repeating...
This morning before the train I went exploring around a shrine with more orange Shinto gates than I've ever seen, but there's a video for that. I bumped into Matt and Jill from Hiroshima here which is always a pleasure. They're going to Thailand next coincidentally. Not sure if they think I'm stalking them but they may just have to get used to that privilege! Osaka is meant to be an unsung Tokyo. It is quite nifty here. And a bit calmer which I like.

• Should probably have called this blog Kyoto...
• Saw a real geisha which is apparently rare...
• Got a dumpling in Gion and then further up the street a guy gave me a taster of this warm lemonade which made it the best lunch yet...
• Warmed up again now...
• Osaka hostel is overflowing with Aussies...
Food: Amazing!
Fact: Clubs in the Kansai area close at 1 by law to keep the area (formally where the old capital resided) more 'regal'.
