Beppu was like the Blackpool of Japan with a tower and whatnot. I didn't stay there long.

• Tried new cocktails inc. china dress and gin buck the latter was tasty, the former stronnnnng...
• Met a Russian, Hungarian and American in a bar and plate Jenga...
• It's snowing again...
• Think I left my camera charger at home with a spare battery in it, oops...
Food: No food, just cocktails.
Yesterday I had what looked like sticky chicken and sesame seeds, not sure it actually was.
The day before was a really nice Japanese curry, served with a burger
When you get a meal here you generally get a glass of this weak tea stuff. It's free so I drink lots, I assume its good for me.
Before that there have been very filling and nutritious rice bowls, this soupy noodley stuff (roma I think).
Fact (Flat 1 kitchen I hope you're imagining the had gesture each time you read that!): Beppu has tsunami signs on lamp posts telling you how high about sea level you are and which direction to run in if there is an earthquake.
Frances Hockin Sounds great, but you should really read what you've written before you post it, not sure rubbing in any direction will help in an earthquake! Oops, about the charger, bought a new one? Lots of love xx Jan 3, 2013
Chris Boffey Great blogs, Alex - you're a journalistic natural! Keep up the good work and safe travels! Chris PS: I showed Sylvia & Brian your maple 'thingy' video and they LOVED it! :) Jan 3, 2013
