On my 2nd flight I experienced the sunrise and sunset from the plane which was quite mystical! I also had a second lesson (the first being from cousin James the family's new expert in the tongue) in Japanese learning a few phrases.
My first night in a 'proper bed' namely a traditional thing which was more comfortable than a warm bath after a snowball fight. Ben James hosted me through couchsurfing.com and we looked after each other as we suffered from jet lag and flu respectively. We discussed politics, ate noodles and Japanese Fried Prawn and he guided my Japanese pronunciation. I checked out the streets both at night and day and the only major difference was the sun. This is the city of convenience.
Kanga has set me the challenge of 'catch em all' in Japan and so far I have found 3. This is a dismal effort but I am sure it will improve as I travel by day and find the Pokemon store itself!
New year here is like our (English) Christmas with family. This scared me as the banks close for 3 days starting Monday and I hadn't successfully used a bank yet...
Status:
• No phone because my BB doesn't actually have 3G, shocker...
• The weather is tripe...
• Many police boxes (not alien) are very helpful and I've never felt safer...
Fact: Widely speaking the Japanese don't trust tourists
