Woke up at 7am and managed to get 7 hours or so sleep, which was a good effort, just need to keep on the move and no napping!! Hopefully keep the jet lag down to a minimum.

The first day out in the wilderness of LA today, we rented a car, a beautiful Mazda 3 (which seems nicer then the wheels I have back home), named it Verve! Livy was the brave one and drove it to the GAS (!) station, where it took us a while work out their system but got there in the end and rewarded ourselves with slushiesss! (few photos in the album) We haven't managed to work out the radio yet so currently on some sort of redneck fm station.

We went on a road trip to Venice Beach, wondered down the beachfront, saw muscle beach, had a butch in the shops and people watched while we stopped for lunch, wow there are some strangeee people there. We attempted to rent Roller Skates but we couldn't even move a metre away from the rental place so had to swap for bikes, they were lovely though, little ride down to Santa Monica pier to watch our first sunset of the trip. Jet lag is now kicking in, trying to put match sticks in my eyes to stay awake :(
