Well Hello Everyone!
I apologise that I haven't written on this in over a month and a half! I have been a very busy bee, and Sydney is definitely an incredible place to live. But anyway I shall try and keep this up to date as I now have a much more settled routine, obviously as I said in my last blog I have done some of the touristy things including seeing the opera house and the harbour bridge. In the week leading up to Christmas I was making the most of getting to know my fellow flatmates and finding out about them. On one of the days I met up with Miss Megan Woolford an old secondary school friend of mine who is working as an Au-pair over here for a few months, and we decided to take the opportunity of using the free tour of Sydney that they offer where a local guide walks you around the CBD and explains what everything is and the history behind it. We both enjoyed this alot and were very greatful to Dean who was our tour guide as he gave a very comprehensive guide of the Sydney CBD.
During the lead up to Christmas as a flat we bought some Christmas decorations along with a tree to put us all in the Christmas spirit, I decided to contribute by making some paper chains which I have always grown up with during Christmas with Mum. On Christmas eve we had a massive party and decided to have lots of different cuisines from different countries, I believe all together there was American, Korean, Chinese, Indian and Japanese, and it was all extremely tasty and went down very well; but I did miss my traditional Ham & Parsley Sauce that my mum normally makes for me on Christmas Eve. On Christmas there were a few sore heads in the flat, so we all just chilled out and contacted our respective families and caught up with what they were up to, I was lucky enough to speak to my mum and gran just before they had Christmas lunch, I also got to speak to Duncan & Susan, and later once Phillip had worked out Skype I got to speak to the D.I crew and see the little ones and hear what they had got for Christmas. Christmas was very different to what happens in the UK, it didn't help the fact the weather was rubbish so we couldn't go to the beach and have a traditional barbie, but it was nice to experience something different with some new friends.
My next few days were spent looking for a job so I could start applying after New Year's, but whilst doing this I was looking forward to the New Year's celebrations in Sydney!
Again sorry I haven't been here and updating this but I'm back now!! :D
Keep an eye out! And keep in touch everyone!
