Mui Ne
Leaving Saigon (HCM) we went up the coast onto Mui Ne, a small seaside town with one big attraction, its huge sand dunes! So getting a jeep tour booked, we went on to see a fishing a village, a canyon which looked like a mini grand canyon and off to the white sand dunes first. It was like being in the middle of the Sahara. Everywhere you looked was huge sand dunes for miles. It was quite surreal. We had a brilliant time sliding down the dunes on sand boards. Just like kids again.
On the way to the red sand dunes we got held up by a whole load of wandering cows blocking the road. When we made it to the red dunes we were too knackered to slide again so we sat down and waited for the stunning sun set.
Roads were a little less hectic in this part of VN so we hired a bike again to see more of Mui Ne and surroundings. We drove to the next city called Phan Tiet and caught them in the middle of some kind of celebrations. There was dragon dances, drums and singing with huge crowds gathered. On the way back we noticed huge dragon fruit plantations everywhere.
