It was not enough just to see the magnificent glacier from the front and up top, we had to get closer. Kayaking...this was the solution to get up close and personal with the glacier. We braved the 3 degrees Celsius water with icebergs drifting around us and paddled to an island close by to have a coffee and admire the view. We then paddled straight to the glacier face. These 90km's of natures best was a truly unforgettable experience and sadly our last day. Aft...

By now I have totally lost my relaxed travel walk I have so been used to and am able to keep up with the chicas insane "walking" pace for the 20km's we did today. More hills and valleys again with such differing views. This route gave us the first glimpse of the glacier at Lago Grey (lake Grey). Technically once we arrived at Refugio Grey we had completed our "W" loop, but in true overachieving style we continued on the "O" route to see the most fabulous views ...

Another 22km's completed today, including the most diverse views at Francis Viz, about 3 hrs up from Italiano Refugio, which we did on the way to Paine Grande Refogio. Besides the mountainous scenery which is so diverse in appearance I noticed clouds I have never seen before. Apparently these type of soft fluffy looking clouds are only found in Pategonia and blew me away!

Woken up by 4am...it's time to set off to see the sunrise at the Torres. After a 2 hour trek we arrived at the Torres with an amazing sun rise. Apparently at sun rise the Torres should shine red for about 2 minutes. This did unfortunately not happen, but was still unbelievable beautiful! On or return to camp we could now see the dodgy terrain we crossed in the dark and the awesome surroundings in daylight. Back at camp we packed up and with big backpacks headed...

After a two hour bus ride from Puerto Natales we arrived at Torres del Paine (meaning the towers of blue). Many websites state this as being "probably the world's most spectacular national park" This mountain range has also recently been added as the 8th wonder of the world. Even having just arrived here, I could see why. So off we went on our merry way to the first camp about 4km away from the starting point, Refugio Chileano. I was close to tiers after climb...
