I posted a new blog entry a few days ago from Cambridge...but it was time stamped for Nov. 99 so it didn't actually show up properly on the site. I also just posted all my pictures up to Cambridge. So check em out.
I'm writing now from Dublin. I really love going to a place I've never been to before. I met up with Mo at the airport in London a few days ago. I was very happy to see her. She was really tired from the "overnight" flight, which actually went to 2am in her mind. We flew to Dublin and got there in the rain and cold. Not too different than the weather in England...a bit colder. But I got to finally use my backpack's raincoat! (I actually bought a raincoat for my backpack on the way to the airport in Halifax, for Amanda and myself, and it became an ongoing issue with us. We wanted to ditch them since we never used them, but we couldn't bear to since I had just bought them. Then I discovered my backpack had a built in raincoat. I still haven't parted with the new one.)
We just did a three-day Shamrocker tour of Southern Ireland. It was nice to be able to have someone tell me about what I was looking at. But tours have their minuses too: you have five mins. to see each sight, you have to wake up at an ungodly hour every morning, and you have to spend a lot of intimate time with the same group of strangers. So really the three day tour is perfect (as opposed to a 14-day one). This tour was a bit different because we were in hostels. We had to spend the first night with 6 girls from Georgia that said y'all a lot, and a couple from Ottawa. The second night was better since we had a five bed dorm.
Tomorrow we're jumping right into our second 3-day tour. Another Shamrocker of Northern Ireland. It'll be nice to share that space with a new group of strangers. Mo had a hard time sleeping in the dorm rooms, so we are going to be living it large for the next two nights in private rooms. Yay!
Oh, and I finally got my bank card! I spent many days inside Lianne's house (who was also very good to me...my own room, nice meals, and use of laundry and internet again! Luxurious) waiting for it. We actually had to chase down the truck on the way to the airport. It was a very close call but I finally got it and it works. That is the important thing.
