I've just come off a very relaxing week in Predannack/Mullion in Cornwall. I was spoiled to death. I stayed with my grandmother's friends, who cooked for me every day, carted me around, let me do laundry, gave me my own room, and even let me use their internet. I was shocked that they even had internet. It was an ancient computer, so I couldn't do much, and the keyboard barely worked...especially the spacebar. I couldn't get up the nerve to blog with that spacebar.
I got to Cambridge last night to my friend Lianne's place after an epic journey by bus then train. I'm just making myself at home here again.
I'm loving being in England. I just feel so comfortable here. I think it's because I've been here so much...starting when I was 9. Or 10? I was about to say that it might be due to the lack of language barrier, but that's not entirely true. I've been remarking for a few days that I need subtitles! Pimms, puds, dodgy, crikey, tea, pudding, ruddy, pants, nackered, poorly, fancy dress, etc. Those are just some.
Anyway, my time in Predannack at Liz and Phil's was great. I forgot after a few days that I wasn't actually related to them. Their almost-3-year-old granddaughter Ruby started calling me Auntie Adrienne and I impressed the pants (hah) off their grandson Matthew and his friend with my 'amazing' yoyo abilities (hah again).
I had more frustration with the bank unfortunately, which I'm hoping will not conitinue tomorrow. I stayed in all day on Wed. (one of very few non-rainy days) because they promised my card would come to me by FedEX. By 3:30 it hadn't arrived, so I called the bank for a tracking number and they hadn't even sent the card! So again they've promised to FedEX the card to me tomorrow. I'll be waiting with baited breath. Grr.
I'm going to try to post the rest of my pictures tonight and tomorrow.
