Hi there,Are you ready for another exciting episode of 'Adele's awesome adventures?' Well, like it or not, your going to hear about it anyway! So since I last wrote, I was in Krabi, might I just say, that it was brought to my attention by several of my avid readers that I was in fact in Krabi and not Krappi like I kept on calling it! Whoopsy.....it was a spelling mistake and it is a very nice place in deed! So apologies to anyone that I may have offended! He he.Yes, so as I was saying, in Krabi and then off to a little island called Koh Lanta. It was a lovely little place and slightly odd too. It seems to have very little tourism and from what I met of the locals they are either reggae lovers high on drugs or seemed to be Muslim and not quite warmed to the tourism industry yet. Not many smiles around. But I went on a tour, paying a whopping 700bhat for a day trip around the island but was taken to a sea gypsy village where I was duped for an hour while the driver had a snooze and I felt quite awkward staying at the locals who were staring at me in the same manner. Then a trip to the viewpoint - unfortunately cloudy from all the rain in the mountains and then dropped at a local 'shopping centre' which was more like couple of shops. Oh well, it kept me entertained for the day. I did meet some really nice Swiss girls who were really good fun so that we could laugh about it with! After leaving Koh Lanta, I had hoped to have felt recharged and ready for the folks, but instead, was a bit pale still from the rain. So headed to Ao Nang, to meet them was a lovely reunion, mum literally jumped off the bus and ran across the hotel lobby - ive never seen her run so fast, so that was nice! I spent the week being thoroughly spoilt, eating steak or sushi whenever I wanted rather than thinking, what's the cheapest. We did, lots of sight seeing trips to Phi Phi Island and James Bond Island. But there is definitely one which will stick in our minds till the end of our days. The trip to Phuket. It was a wet and miserable day, so our options were limited, so I suggested a trip to Phuket. We knew it would be a long day, but went ahead anyway. We jetted off in a private taxi for the day which was about 40pounds, to take us 3hrs drive there all day around the island and back. So we visited the cashew nut factory then did the usual trip to a gem factory, and went to Patang Beach. Amazingly, we found Keith Floyd's restaurant, dad's favorite chef, so he was in his element when we found it. But mum, being the drama queen as usual, found out that he was there, in the restaurant, so as we waltz in, she, shouts in a rather loud manner so that everyone can hear ' Mr. Floyde, we've found you! We've tracked you down from Bangkok airport!' His face was of utter confusion, she then continued with ' you were there a few days ago weren't you...?' He smiled politely and shook mums hand but did not look at all impressed. The whole restaurant was staring at us. It turns out, mum and dad had spotted him at the airport a few days earlier, unfortunately, he hadn't spotted them, other wise he may have legged it! So from one drama to the next, we went to see this show called Fantasia. Its Thailand's biggest attraction - and boy-o-boy is it! It was like Disneyland on speed - there were lady boys all over the place - very amusing and beautiful. Then the show at the end was the best bit, but we had to leave to make our 3hr journey back to our hotel. Except our driver, wasn't quite with it. He seemed to be falling asleep the whole entire way home. Mum, dad and I had to constantly talk to him for 3hrs non stop to make sure he didn't quite fall asleep. Mum was quite worried to say the least and I had my hands at the ready to grap the steering wheel I it started to veer off into the verge. Thankfully, we made it back, but we won't be doing that again in a hurry! The rest of the week was nice and a lot less dramatic and even got the chance to go horse riding at sunset which was very pretty.Arrived here in Bali yesterday, it's very chilled and relaxed here. Loads of Aussies around.Well, better go, keep in touch everyone and will write another blog soon.Love Adele x
