We are now in Sydney having spent 4 days out at Ayres Rock in the sauna. God it was sooo hot 100 everyday. We did a sunrise tour of the rock which was great but had to get up for 4am! Later that afternoon we had a tour take us a walk into the Olgas, Kata Tjuta. It was so warm but we managed to escape being burnt. After that we went for a well deserved swim in the hotel pool.
On our last night out at the rock we had a sunset dinner which included champagne as we watched the sun go down and then a big buffet under the stars. Free booze! There were a little too many clouds to see all the stars but what we saw was amazing.
Now we are in Sydney and here for a few days. Yesterday we visited the zoo saw the cute Koala bears. Last night we ate next to the Opera House and got some great pictures of it and the bridge. Today we went on a speed boat round the harbour and got soaked but it was worth it. Tomorrow we climb the Harbour Bridge! Im a bit nervous about that, it looks might high.

yup ayres rock was so hot...really nice resort that we stayed in....got to cook our own bbq-kangaroo, croc, emu and a bit of beef for good measure! the sun rise tour was brilliant ...early start wasn't but hey its worth it once your out there- it really does glow when the sun hits it. the later walk in the canyon was good too- interesting bush facts along the way.....we look like right tourists in those pictures and i'm also using my buff (neck tie thing)!!..my dad will be proud!! 'the sound of silence dinner'...what can i say...so romantic!! the candles, the stars (or lack of them due to clouds boo)....yup we were surrounded by loved up couples but hey they were really nice and chatty...got some good info on NZ from them. great food, free wine brilliant!
Sydney........lots of cute animals in the zoo..got to walk or bounce with the roos! the bridge climb...you have to do it! great views and you get to wear really dodgy jump suits! climbing the stairs was the worst bit as they are right over the car lanes and you can see them zooming under you...thats on the way up...and on the way back down you've got the train tracks beside you....2 trains went past me on either side as i was going down...made me jump just a tad...lucky you're clipped onto a wire! legs killed the next day...all those steps!
