So we got up by alarm for the first time in ages ready to start our mornings work. I did struggle & i think Adam did too but once we were up and dressed we felt better.
We had cereal for breakfast and headed to the sharehouse office.
Phil the manager of the sharehouse talked to us for about an hour showing us how everything works and gave us our contract.
We will get a mix of hours in the week, we can swap them with other people if we have plans or something comes up but you just have to give them a days notice so they can arrange cover.
When we work we have to walk to the office & load up our cars, Phil prepares all the bed linen & toilet tissue in bags and labels them up for each room. We then get a clipboard with details of the rooms we are cleaning. We then grab a shopping basket and load it with all our cleaning products and clothes that we will need. We get a hoover, mop & cobweb broom aswell which all have to be loaded into the car.
Today Phil took us to 80 Martyn street which is just up the road from us. it is a multistorey block of apartments we had to clean 3.
The first room we did together & then we did one each on our own. The things we have to do are:
- Brush away the cobwebs/ dust from the ceings and walls.
- Wipe down the walls with a magic block & then use a cloth to blend in any marks.
- clean the doors, handles & light switches
- Polish the cupboard, tv stand, bed frame & table.
- clean mirror
- clean the windows
- check that each room has the right amount of plates etc.
- Remove old bed covers & put new ones on - they consist on pillow protectors, pillow cases, mattress protector, duvet cover & fitted sheet.
- sweep up dust and hoover & then mop the floors.
- spray airfreshner
- Put a map on the table and a cleaner feedback form.
we also have to check the fridge space is empty and wipe it down & the same for the cupboards.
After we finished Phil came and checked what we cleaned & he was really pleased. He showed us how to do the beds really well & tuck everything in neatly there are not allowed to be any lumps. We then did the same thing again on our own & then Phil checked.
He was really happy with what we did, we worked really hard!
After you finish cleaning you then go back to the office & unload everything, wash your clothes & hang them out. Then a member of staff will help you inspect the bed linen to check for stains etc. If they are ok then the guest gets there deposit back.
We had dinner when we got back as we were mega hungry. It was a mix but yummy, chorizo, bacon & bbq sasuage pasta. lol
Had a power nap for an hour & managed to Skype mummy & daddy S :)
Then we went to the gym for body pump, which was brilliant the gym is lovely & the instruction is nice. Picked it up quickly but was hard, i felt like i was going to faint while we were in class. lol Bet we will ache tomorrow.
We got back and chilled for a bit, got to skype with Emma for a while which was nice :)
Then we did our nightly job search on google. I applied for one tonight & got a reply straight away, i have got to pop in for a chat tomorrow. i won't say too much but i am excited and its good to finally get a response from an application.

MUMMY DADDY ABBOTT fingers crossed you get the job tomorrow then kershia you both did really well today well done to you both. sounds like you have had a busy day and you have done a weeks worth in one day lol. I hope to chat with you tomorrow around 2pm our time which i think is 7pm your time. till tomorrow both keep safe. We have just got back from taking amy on their holiday to pontins the babe is loving it already, She has dipped her toes in the sea for the first time.
