About an hour or 2 out from punta del diablo I turned around in my seat and introduced myself to a young Canadian couple; Adam and Avery. Super nice guys that were at the back end of their travels and were looking forward to spending their remaining weeks in the chilled little beach oasis that is punta del diablo. After hearing a pretty alarming story about a girl from our milhouse hostel being held at gunpoint when trying to get the ferry to Uruguay we made sure we were pretty switched on for the trip.
