Finally arived after a 10 hour bus journey-all very comfy though. Sandy was waiting for me which was a nice relief-and it was really nice to see her too. Ayr was the place I dived the SS Yongalla, an English Steam ship built on order of the Adelade Ship Company and sunk on her way to Townsville in a cyclone. She wasn't foudn for a while as she didn't ahve aradio on her-she was actually sailing to Townsvill eto pick one up. A beautiful place to stay. I wish I was staying here longer. Got the ferry over from Townsville yesterday, took 20 mins. I'm staying at the Bungalow Bay resort...lots of big wooden bungalows, with its own Koala sanctuary in teh grounds. Today I had a walk around the Island; going to Balding Bay (a nudist beach) and Radical Bay...both beautiful, very peaceful with only a handful of people on-very idillic. Then walked around the Fort-an army base used during WW2......

The best thing about this place was leaving it. A nice maritme museum with displays about HMS Pandora...nothing else to sing about.

I've had the most amazing five days of my whole diving life...so far. We had an amazing crew, fab weather, great bunch of people to dive with and food to die for-you couldn't imagine how good it's been. We left on the Taka boat-around 22 of us, set for 4 dives a day with two night dives. The highlights were the cod hole-where the dive leader fed this giant potato cod-bigger than me and very hungry.
