and so the saga continues.....turns out that all the guys that got thier names and passport details taken last night have actually been put on the narcotics list for Boliva. This means that if they try to leave the country they will be arrested! Out tour guide is off to contact the embassies on thier behalf tomorrow-ok for everyone but one of the group, as my friend is from Norway-and they dont have an embassy here! I am so glad that for once, I went home.
So, we will see what happens tomorrow. Sucre meanwhile is a really pretty place. It´s actually the capital of Bolivia-I thought it was La Paz, so there you go-shows how blonde I am. Lots of churches, mueums and general sight seeing to do. Tomorrow I will mostly be sitting reading my book in the big plaza, soaking up some sun-lovely.
Everything got sorted out with the list...thanks god! We watched a film on the last night called the Deils Miners-about two boys, 12 and 14, who work in the mines we visited. If you get a chance to-check it out-a fantastic film (thedevilsminer.com). It was heart breaking to see how proud they were, yet at the same time hated thier lives...but they had no choice but to work thier-they needed the money!
The one bad things about the big cities is that there are more beggars, especially children. It is hard saying no to them, but we met the cutest little boy selling coke yesterday. His name was Henry, 11 yrs old. He lived with his brother in the city and did this job for 2 hrs after school and at weekends. He was a smart boy...who knows, one day he may even have his own shop.
