We survided the jungle...just about! The trip started off with a stop of at this pathetic~eco park-with one alligator in a lilly pond! Once we got to our lodge things began to improve. We went pirhana fishing-very boring but managed to catch one. Then it started to rain, and rain, and rain-yes I know we were in the rainforest-but still! Not much to here apart from drink beer, smoke and sleep-so that´s what we have been doing for the past two days.We finally got to Santa Elena yesterday morning after a hellish bus trip of around 10 hours. The hellish part was being stopped twice by soldiers, once to check our passports-which they though mine had the wrong stamp in-I though they were going to shoot me! Luckily for me, they just took $1000 off our tour guide-this is what a corrupt country Vene...

Just returned from the jungle-no snakes or anything! Saw Angle Falls-the highest waterfall in the world apparently. Had to endure numerous boat rides-of which several involved near capsize-and a trek through the jungle of an hour-up lots of slippy hard rocks-now have a dent in my leg to prove it-but well worth the struggle Have managed to break my camera so no pics on here until I get it fixed. Will be nice to get out of this coutnry-nice people but too laid bac...

Arrived very tired at 1am this morning(5 your time) so had officially been up for 24 hrs-great stuf. I impressed myself by finding the hotel with no hassle. Am meeting up with the tour guide and another one of the group for lunch very soon. We head off on the start of the tour tomorrow. It is very busy and hot, lots of people-and not many of them seem to speak English-oh dear!
