La Paz has to be the scariest, most dirtiest city I have ever been to. It is also the worlds highest city dont you know! Last night was the worst night bus of this trip so far. We had a 14hr trip here...no toilet, people standing then sleeping in the aisles, then smoking on the bus! I think at some points the driver just gave up with the engine and free-wheeled down the steep hills! Potosi is famous for it s co-operative mines. Each guy can work for as long as wants to get mineral sout of the mountains that surround the city and get paid for what he brings up. Unfortunately the minerals that they have to bring up by hand usually weigh around 50kg! The dust that they breathe in contains so many toxic chemicals that most die fairly young. Crossing the Salt Flats, or Salar de Uyuni, in Boliva has to be one of the most amazing things in teh world to do! Our entry into Boliva went quite well.
