No alarm today! We get up late, well 8 o'clock. We have breakfast- the usual. It's almost 10am when Karen and I split up. I attend Kainoa's spiel on Hawaii's conversion from Kingdom to Statehood. He's always interesting and a great speaker. Meanwhile, Mom heads to the pool. We agree to meet in our room around noon to prepare for our Mariner's Society Brunch in the dining room. Dress code is smart casual, you know, dress pants and a Hawaii...

So it's Halloween and a sea day too. Up early and a light breakfast as usual, I head for the library to load pictures for the blog while Mom runs errands. Karen goes to the main desk for change and then her favorite pastime, laundry. I skip lectures today and begin organizing the blogs. I now have six that need completion in some way or another, mostly pictures, and then they need to be synced with the website and sent. That last part requires Internet, hope...

Now to try to catch up on the blog. First off, I manage to send off two days before the Internet dies so that's that. I'll continue writing and processing pictures. We know it's Sunday because the football games are on at all the bar TVs aboard ship. It's never our local teams but we don't watch anyway. The extra hour of sleep was great but we're going to have to pay them back someday. We are now five hours behind West Coast time. This morning the water has a roll to it. Not bad but add in the cloudy skies, threat of rain and the hurricane Nora nearby, we can only hope we won't be affected. The temp is 81F at 9am when we head for breakfast. Now remember, we don't eat bacon, eggs, hash browns, sausage, pancakes, sweet rolls, omelets and chocolate milk.
